Best Travel Tips for a 2 day trip to Monaco

Before I share the itinerary for your trip I would like to share some tips for your trip which can help you plan your vacation in a much better way. This section will help you with deciding the perfect time to travel and choosing the right method of travelling to Monaco.

What is the Best time to visit Monaco?

Monaco is a year-round destination and it completely depends upon your choice of weather, crowd level and activity. There are so many things to do and so many things to enjoy that it is hard to figure out exactly when to visit as Europe is full of things happening.

Spring (March to May): Springtime in Monaco has mild temperatures and flowers are blooming, which makes it the perfect time for outdoor activities. There are fewer tourists as compared to summer so you can have a better and more relaxing experience.

Summer (June to August): Summer is a peak tourist season in Monaco and Europe. This time of the year is warm and has plenty of sunshine. If you love beach and water activity then this is the perfect time to visit Monaco.

Autumn (September to November): Autumn brings a pleasant temperature and the crowd is lower than summer. This time is also considered shoulder season in Monaco so if you want to ignore the crowd then this is the best time to visit Monaco and enjoy some of the cultural events.

Winter (December to February): Winters in Monaco don’t get any harsh and stay at mild temperatures, rarely dropping under 10C. You might not enjoy the beach but there are a lot of other activities that can be enjoyed in winter.

It doesn’t matter what time of the year you are visiting there’s always something for everyone.

How to Travel to Monaco?

By Air: Nice Côte d’Azur Airport in Nice, France is the nearest International airport to Monaco located just 30 km away. Taxis, car rental and Helicopter transfer are some of the transport available to reach Monaco from the Airport.

By Train: Monaco is well connected by train from major cities like Nice, Marseille, and Paris. Monaco Monte-Carlo train station is located in the heart of Monaco and allows easy access to the city. This is the best way to travel if you want to spend some time on a scenic route.

By Car: By far the easiest way to travel to Monaco is using a car. The city-state is well-connected with France, Italy and rest of the Europe as well. However, I would not recommend this method as parking is extremely hard to find and expensive. Moreover, once you’re in Monaco there is no use of the car and public transport is the best way to travel.

By Bus: Bus is a budget friendly option and several companies are operating from many cities in France. If you have a plan to visit multiple countries in Europe then this is the best way to travel.
